Over the past 20 years, Sunny Isles Beach has become a recognized city in Miami-Dade County. The area is located about 25 minutes from South Beach which is known to be one of the world's top vacation destinations. More specifically, Sunny Isles Beach is surrounded by Golden Beach and Aventura, just north of Bal Harbour.

The city known to be Sunny Isles Beach is comprised of a mixture of primary residents, second homes and visitors from all over the world. As more and more jaw dropping architecture fills the beach side along Collins Avenue, it is quite amazing to see what Sunny Isles has become.

The population surpassed 20,000 residents in 2015 according to the U.S. census, and has a median age of 50. Considering all of the new condos in Sunny Isles Beach are high-end where prices can range from $2 million or $50 million and more to purchase an apartment, the average household income and net worth of a homeowner has increased dramatically.

Most of Sunny Isles Beach is comprised of condominiums; however, there are a few communities within the city with single family homes and townhouses. Some of these boast waterfront homes or access to a marina for boaters.

While the majority east of Collins Avenue boasts skyscrapers and luxury condo residences, across the street west of Collins Avenue is mainly shopping centers. In these strip centers, there are some boutique stores, beach accessory stores, drug stores and grocery stores.

For those looking for serious shopping, there are great options just a few minutes away. Bal Harbour Shops has only high-end and expensive shopping stores. Aventura Mall, known to be one of the largest malls in America, is moments away once you take the William Lehman Causeway and bring you a shopper's heaven.

One can easily find a variety of cuisines for almost any type of ethnicity. After all, Sunny Isles Beach as well as Miami Beach is a melting pot filled with many, many cultures. There are a few restaurants in some of the buildings along the beach such as Aqualina, Newport Hotel while the majority of restaurants are across the street in the shopping centers. As mentioned above, there are also two large shopping destinations just a few minutes away which are Bal Harbour Shops and Aventura Mall. Both of these have great dining options for lunch and dinner!

There is a free shuttle service that runs along Collins Avenue as well as William Lehman Causeway and 163rd Street, which border Sunny Isles Beach. Of the two routes, one shuttle bus operates between 8AM and 7:35PM. The second route work between 7:45AM and 3:50PM. The city of Miami also offers buses as there are 5 routes that go up and down Collins Avenue through Sunny Isles Beach.
